50 Miles

Did 50 miles yesterday, around Portsmouth and Southampton. It was a super sunny day, felt really good. Averaged 16.3 Mph.

Craig did 101 miles today!

What a crazy man, although he could do with loosing the weight :-)

Wednesday Night Time Trial

Last night we went out for a practice run for tonights 10 mile time trial ,so at 6:00 this evening we cycled down to the meeting point in Dunchurch lycra clad and roaring to go. Fortunately, the rain held off and after sitting round for a while and finally g0t our bottoms moving, Sonny at 19 and me at 20 were ready to start.

The first 4.5 miles were going to be with an awful head wind so the plan of action was to pace it nicely and then hammer it home on the return leg - which involved two big hills but hopefully ok with the wind behind.

Cut a long story short Sonny came home in 29:19 (average of 20.5 mph) and I crossed the line in 24:49 (average of 24.2 mph). I'm over the moon with this as it's my pb and I didn't think I'd be able to break the 25 minute barrier just yet.

Cycling this week

Not done too much really, had too ache that has come straight from Satan himself so have sat around feeling sorry for myself - and a game of badminton on Tuesday!

Did get out for the RCC 25 mile time trial last night and came home in 1:07.31 after two laps of one roundabout where I wasn't sure which way I was going. Average of 22.1 so pretty pleased although the winning time was 55 something!!!!

Tonight, hit the A45 to take my mind off my tooth (didn't work by the way) and cycled 20.05 miles in 56.37, average speed 21.2 mph, average cadence 87.

Now, a stag weekend of no cycling and lots of drinking to look forward to so I'll have to make sure I get some hung over miles in on Monday!

Ok.... as you may have read, my old bike got a bit destroyed.

However, today I got my new one back! Well not so much a new one as a new Planet X SL Pro Carbon Road frame.... which means it is very light (in weighed less tahn the box it came in), and looks very cool :-)

Craig came out with me to make sure I did not have a crash, or annoy any drivers again. It was a bit windy on the Draycot Water section;

19.3 Miles, 16.3 Mph Avg, 31.7 Mph Max, 71 avg cadence.

I shall be going out all on my own tomorrow.... lets us see what happens.

So we had a meeting. An actual meeting.

Can you believe that?

LOADS of stuff to get sorted - hotels, return travel, support cars, sponsorship, accommodation, nutrition etcetcetc

We now know more than we did know but definately don't know enough

It is possible we are now more confused than before

I would say that is progress
